Real Intimate Wedding: Khadijah and Phil
Wedding in the Park-Lake Eola
Couple: Khadijah + Phil Location: Lake Eola Peninsula Aug 18, 2018 I just wanted to share a few pictures of this super intimate wedding from this past Saturday. The bride found this wonderful, modern halter dress with a small train. She capped her look off with a modified birdcage veil and stunning 3 tier hanging earrings. Do you agree its so perfect for this elopement. Her shoes were bright blue with ribbon ties. I forget to get a detail shot of them but the couple was so fun to shoot I am not gonna beat myself up too much.
What better place to have an intimate wedding, just for two, than beautiful Lake Eola. With all of the extra rain we have had this year, it was really green and pretty. Foliage was in superior bloom and the resident swans were out and about to provide just enough background to add that something special.
Khadijah and Phil decided on a straightforward civil ceremony with a ring exchange. This couple didn’t need a lot of fluff and filler words. It was very evident how in love they were. Lots of tears flowed as they said their vows to one another.
It was a gorgeous sunny day, but don’t be fooled, it was hot as ever, with temps fluxing between 90F and 93F degrees. This wedding took place at noon and the sun was directly on top of us. But lucky for Khadijah and Phil there were plenty of shady options to choose from in a small walking distance from the peninsula. They were able to take a quick refuge or two between pictures.
Good thing too because soon to be Mrs. Knight had on gorgeous blue 4 inch skinny heels. And tears of joy weren’t the only thing rolling down our couple’s cheeks. I love the pop of red the paisley tie gives the groom’s outfit. A vest without a jacket worked well.
After the ceremony I captured a few pictures of the couple.
Beautiful smiles. The best smiles are just after the ceremony where the couple is freshly married, happy and in love!
Keeping the ceremony intimate saved the couple tons of money, lessened the anxiety that happens during the planning stages and sometimes bleeds over into the day and kept the focus on just the two of them the whole time.

I love black and white images. Sometimes a pose just screams take away the color and let the image speak. I loved shooting this couple.
A secret I love you. I encourage them to take a few moments to themself and act like I am not there. I like the raw honest pictures where they aren’t (p.o.p.) posing on purpose.
Maybe a First Look?
Excitement builds between the couple. Oh my gosh we just got married. Next stop; the honeymoon!
The hands you hold are the only ones you will need. I agree to take this journey of love with you!
And they walked into their future of love together with smiles as bright as the sun.
