Real Wedding: Melissa and Jade

Old Hollywood Glam Commitment Ceremony

colors: white, black and redCommitmentCollage1

Bride: Melissa
Bride: Jade
Wedding Date: 08/14/2010
Venue: Providence Golf and Country Club Davenport Fl
Style: Old Hollywood Glam
Ceremony: Commitment

This lovely couple sealed their commitment to one another atop the stairs of the Providence Golf and Country Club. They wrote their own vows to each other. The heartfelt vows moved everyone to tears from the guests to the vendors. Yes, even I had tears falling. The bride in the wedding dress, Jade, was walked down the aisle by her mother who is legally blind. The day was filled with love and support for this young couple. Speaking with them prior to their wedding day I realized they both had talked extensively about their future and planned ahead. No wonder the wedding went off without a hitch. Jade did all of the planning herself.  The couple also provided the decorations. Jade was a big fan of Jessica Rabbit and was able to prominently display the figurine next to wedding cake for the reception. Melissa helped with the black and white photos that adorned the reception walls and each table had a picture of a famous actor from the days when Hollywood glitz and glam were in their hey day.

The Fashion

Bride Melissa was dapper in her white and black pinstriped suit and bow-tie. Jade was simply stunning in her white lace sheath gown and headband with birdcage veil. Notice how large the bouquet is with fully bloomed roses,  feathers, crystals and greenery.

From their ceremony:

Welcome

I would like to welcome everyone here today for the marriage ceremony of Melissa and Jade. You have been invited here because of the important role you have played in these young women’s lives. On such an important and meaningful day, it is important to be surrounded by the love and well wishes of your closest family members and friends.  So, as family and friends of these brides, your lives, as well as theirs, have been touched in a special way. The union we are about to experience goes deeper than just the couple. It encompasses and combines two sets of friends, two sets of families, and two sets of lives into one.  Let us now witness and celebrate, the love, commitment and union of Melissa and Jade.

Memoriam

Before you are seated, I ask that in honor of our bride Melissa Baron, that we all bow our heads as we give a moment of silence in recognition of those that could not be here with us today. We offer a special remembrance of Melissa’s father, Thomas Joseph Baron.  Although he is not here with us physically, we feel blessed he is with us in Spirit on this beautiful day. (A moment of silence.) Thank you. Please be seated.

Presenting of the bride

Who brings this beautiful bride to be married to this woman? Jade’s mother responds “I do.”     Please bring her forward.  Melissa and Jade, please join hands. Mothers please take your seats.

Consent

Do you both come to this decision and agreement of your own free will knowing the importance and significance of such a commitment? Brides answer “Yes”

and a  little from the Address

At the end of this ceremony, you will be united as one, but you still must decide each and every day that stretches before you, that you want to be married. Make such a decision and keep on making it, for the most important thing in life is to love and be loved.

May you always need one another, not so much as to fill the emptiness, but to help each other know your fullness.  May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you embrace one another, but not encircle one another. May you succeed in all important ways with each other, and not fail in the little graces. Look for things to praise, often say ‘I love you’ and take no notice of small faults. May you have happiness, and may you find it in making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it in loving one another.

Enjoy the pictures I took of their special day!
