Meet Natiesha and Daniel.

This fantastic bwwm couple tied the knot earlier this year at Noah’s Event Venue located in Lake Mary Florida. Their formal religious ceremony was filled with prayers, heartfelt and funny vows that they each wrote, a candle ceremony and even a unique wedding unity ceremony. There were lots of tears and even a few belly laughs during the ceremony. The vows were so beautiful and personal that there was not a dry eye in the house. The couple asked that no pictures be taken by their guests of the ceremony so they could be present and in the moment with them. I personally love that because then the guests are not distracted and the photographer does not have to take pictures around guests trying to get their own best shots.

The bride wore a beautiful fit and flair gown with detailing throughout the  bodice down to the flared skirt.  Her hair was accented by a veil and crown. Her bouquet consisted mostly of calla lillies and hydrangea. The groom wore a sharp grey suit with vest and green tie.

Natiesha and Daniel chose the Noah Event Center for its multi-room functionality.  They had a seperate rooms for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception all at one location and everything was inside so we were saved from the Florida heat and humidity. Guests were able to enjoy the whole wedding day at one location. Noah’s Event Venue also has an outside courtyard.

Since it was an indoor wedding they could not physically bring their pets. So the bride attached pictures of them to her bouquet and they symbolically walked the aisle with her. Her father and mother escorted her down the aisle.

The ceremony space was light and modern. Purple chair sashes adorned just the aisle chairs and purple and white petals defined the aisle.  This is a wonderful way to add a pop of color and style without breaking the bank or having to deal with an aisle runner.

The couple had a memorial candle table to honor the passing of their parents and a table for their Peanut butter and Jelly unity ceremony. Arent’t those purple ribbon wrapped jars just the cutest.

The flower girls, one from each side of the family, were eager to get started and showed me their rocking skills (cleverly disguised energy)

After the ceremony it was time for dinner, dancing and cake! The couple entered the reception space and went right into their first dance. During dinner one of the guests asked me how I deal with prejudice being in a multicultural marriage. I was surprised by the question. And I was once again reminded how we as a species are still being held back by issues that should not be issues. My answer? We  continue to treat each other as human beings and respect each other as intelligent individuals and remember how much we love each other. We talk a lot, and going into the relationship we set up boundaries so race has never been an issue within our relationship. And when we are the subject of bad behavior due to our relationship we rally to the defense of the other.

The wedding cake and cake table. Yes my lovelies you are correct. That is groot chilling on the wedding cake. During the toasts, the groom’s best man gave my favorite toast of the year. He grabbed the mic and referred to all of the wonderful word lavish speeches before his and simply said that he does not have words that would be adequate enough to describe how much he loves the couple and he said “I am Groot.” which was followed by a raucous applause and cheering by those who got the reference.
